The main planned activities and expected results of the project are as follows:

  • development of an AI-supported, drone-based system using extended-spectrum cameras for the early detection of invasive plant species;
  • mapping and monitoring of invasive plant species in the protected areas Special Nature Reserve "Obeđska Bara" and the ecological network area "Sava downstream of Hruschica – HR2001311";
  • application of drone systems for precise chemical treatment of invasive plant species;
  • pilot testing and field implementation in selected protected natural areas to assess the effectiveness of new solutions;
  • Training of employees in protected area management institutions for the use of drones and AI tools;
  • training programs and guidelines for institutions responsible for managing protected areas and environmental protection agencies on how to integrate advanced technologies into the management of invasive plant species;
  • development of recommendations for decision-makers to support the adoption of advanced strategies for the control and management of invasive plant species, as well as the dissemination of the project's results;
  • Fostering cross-border cooperation for the development and sharing of innovative solutions, as well as strengthening the capacity of the program partners' institutions.
